What we believe
We Believe that Parents and Community Members are our children's best teachers and we are dedicated to providing the training, experiences and support to create homeschools/microschools that nurtures the talents, self-esteem, and resilience of young, Black children, helping them to thrive and achieve their full potential.
What We Provide
The One-Room Schoolhouse Community School Training Program is a specialized educational initiative designed to empower Black families with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to create enriching and culturally affirming homeschool or community school environments. This program focuses on fostering academic excellence, cultural awareness, and personal growth for gifted Black children, ensuring they receive a holistic and supportive education tailored to their unique needs.
Program Objectives:
Empowerment: Equip Black families with the tools and confidence to successfully educate their children at home or in small community settings.
Cultural Affirmation: Incorporate Black history, culture, and contributions into the curriculum to foster a strong sense of identity and pride.
Academic Excellence: Provide rigorous and stimulating academic content that challenges gifted learners and promotes intellectual growth.
Holistic Development: Address the social, emotional, and psychological needs of gifted Black children, supporting their overall well-being.
Community Building: Create a supportive network of Black homeschooling families to share resources, strategies, and experiences.
